Droid 2 Now Hitting Shop Shelves

Venizon Wireless has unveiled it’s new Motorola Droid 2; an improved version of one of the company’s biggest sellers.  The new smartphone has a cost of $199 and a new two-year contract.

One of the biggest improvements to the original version is the speed of the newer model.  The new phone has a 1 GHz processor and double the RAM of the original Droid.  Another new feature4 is the centered keyboard which differs from the original model which had an off center keypad that accommodated a four-way directional pad that was not considered necessary by many users of the original model.  The Droid 2 has implemented direction arrows on the keyboard itself and the keys are larger making them easier to use.

Bill Ogle, chief marketing officer for Motorola is quoted as saying “we listened to consumers and are providing an even more robust experience”.  Although the original Droid was considered outgunned by the HTC Droid Incredible and the Droid X, this later model is considered equal to both of these models in terms of processing power and the other features of this new release.   This newer model also has a more colorful design in silver and blue; and is slightly more rounded than the previous model.
