Volvo Car Factories. Geely, the new owner of Volvo wants to sell the Car Swedish brand in China to substantially increase. Therefore, the Chinese car manufacturer for its new subsidiary in China to build three factories, Said the Cina’s CEO Li Shufu in an interview.
It is the intention of the Chinese factories to produce 300,000 Volvo cars a year. That would mean nearly a doubling of current annual production of Volvo car, in 2009 335,000 cars sold worldwide. There were only 24,400 Volvo cars in China.
According to CEO Shufu suffice to three factories to last year’s loss-making Volvo to get out of trouble, but the challenge lies for the Volvo brand further. This would be done in the luxury segment with models that can compete with the BMW 7-Series or Mercedes S-Class.
