Honda Jazz/Fit Hybrid Launch Official!

Honda is going green again and this time with the Fit/Jazz. The Honda Fit/Jazz is a successful high end hatchback in a lot of countries where it is launched. The launch of this model was not made in most countries outside Japan, but now the launch of the Jazz/Fit Hybrid in Europe is confirmed and will be launched as early as 2011. While Europe rejoices the news, North America has not gained any enthusiasm as Honda officials have not given any news of the Jazz/Fit making it there.

In most countries, it comes with a 1.2L engine but the European version will possibly get a 1.3L gasoline engine mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission with an electric motor. Specifications of the engine is not available as of now, but will be available in time, i.e after the Paris Motor Show which is going to be held soon.

The Jazz/Fit will be taking advantage of the proven IMA hybrid motor and control system and sell this technology in Europe through the Jazz/Fit. This will be the first time a hybrid vehicle will be available to the B segment consumers. The Jazz/Fit promises to give great fuel economy and shoot out less CO2 emissions.

The Honda Jazz hybrid in Japan is supposed to be the cheapest hybrid available in the Country with prices around $15,000 – $19,000. The Jazz hybrid gets a new white grille and front bumper design, the colour of the head and tail lights have been turned into white and a panoramic glass on the roof. The hybrid version gets an optional bespoke Lime Green metallic exterior color.

The new Jazz will be unveiled at the Paris Motor show which will happen later next month and will go on sale in Europe, starting early 2011. Honda is a brand that portrays dependability and they sure will keep that in Europe with the new Jazz/Fit where hybrid cars are gaining demand and where green cars are supported by the government with strict Euro emission norms.
