Mazda, the Japanese automobile manufacturer with Fords hands on it has unveiled a new concept called the Shinari in Milan, Italy recently. Mazda introduced the new design because of the failure of the previous design, the Nagare and it has been dispatched only to make way for the Kodo design Language.
This was made by a new designer with collaboration of the Mazdas styling studios in the United States, Germany and Japan. The Shinari concept indicates the era of a new designer and a new theme. The Shinari concept is going to be the future of Styling for Mazda and not the Nagare theme.
The Shinari concept is a 4 door sports sedan design that will inspire its design cues to Mazdas future line ups. With a new designer Ikuo Maeda, Mazda plans to turn its notch up a bit and wants to compete with the high level sedans like the German Mercedes and BMW.
Ikuo Maeda, general manager of Mazda Motor Corp.’s design division said “This design will lead to the next generation of Mazda design and will lead to other elements,”. “We want to play in the same group as BMW and Audi,” said Derek Jenkins, director of design for Mazda North America. “On fit and finish we want the same level of quality.”
The Shinari concept indicates a bit of maserati style with the long grille and the maserati like headlights. But i am sure, the production version cars wont be getting into this debate. The Shinari concept will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show next month. More will be added when the Press Release is available.
