Paris: 2011 Chevrolet Aveo Hatchback! Sedan On Its way! The Chevrolet Aveo, since the debut of the first generation was always under weighed by the likes of other hatches like the Hyundai i20, Ford Fiesta, VW Polo, etc. Recently, Chevrolet had introduced the Chevrolet RS concept at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and it was a design that could shatter the ford fiesta reign and give it tough competition. But.. well, the compliments for design stop there at the concept.

This tiny car, which derives a lot of design cues from the Chevrolet Beat, will be coming in a variety of small engines of which the power output will vary from 70 bhp – 115 bhp. Both Petrol and Diesel engines will be added to the vehicle, like the 1.2L, 1.4L and 1.6L gasoline engine and the 1.3L turbo diesel that will feature the Start/Stop technology. These engines will be mated to a 5 speed manual or a 6 speed manual or a 6 speed automatic transmission.

The exterior design could have obviously been better, but the interiors are beautiful. There are a lot of Beat design cues like the similar rear door handle, the short bonnet and the flat rear. We needn’t point out, but the concept model though looks similar is far away from the production version.

The new Aveo hatch will enter into the European markets in the summer of 2011. Chevrolet will be making a sedan version of the car, which will go on sale a little after the hatch is launched. The expectations for the sedan version is also not that high, but lets hope the design turn offs gets comprimised with performance.
